A WORD ABOUT INSPIRATION
Wear this dress in the summer while riding your bike and the result is all woman. With greyish-blue, Bordeaux and neon green versions to pick from, Monika has explained to the less knowledgeable of us, that this shape is called a “princess shape” with its hourglass silhouette, gathered skirt and the pretty seams that lead across the chest to the waist. Simple, elegant and exquisitely feminine, even on a bike.
A WORD ABOUT FABRICS
A perforated dress. What can one possibly imagine? We’ll try to help – it’s all about the fabric, this is a fun one indeed. About half a centimetre thick, the whole fabric is made of countless, what one would describe as ultra-thin and firm threads that capture air and hold it inside. And through this fabric are countless oval shaped perforations. Squishy when you press the fabric, it comes springing back up once you let go. A bit addictive actually. Obviously not for monsoon season, but the fabric does repel water, so you won’t mind a couple of droplets of water landing on you. But if you do get rained on, our guess is you will dry fairly quickly, just because it is so lovely and breathable.
LOOKING CLOSELY AT THE DETAILS
PUFFED COLLAR – an effect simply created by it consisting of two layers of the perforated fabric
FASTENING – an inconspicuous zipper extends from the neck to the waist
POCKETS – you will find two seam pockets at hip level
BELT – a belt that is part leather and part elastic sits freely on your waist and can easily be removed without causing disruption to the piece, as no belt loops are involved in the game
